Matt Blease was commissioned by Japanese fashion brand and retailer BEAMS to create a design for a t-shirt. Starting in Japan in 1976 as a men’s fashion retailer, they expanded their product range over the years to take in women’s fashion, household goods and more. Today they also have offices in London, New York, Milan and Paris.
BEAMS will have a booth at The Greenroom Festival in Yokohama in May 2019. Taking place over two days, the festival will feature art, music and film, with the main theme being the preservation of Japan’s beaches and sea-life. Matt’s official t-shirt design for the festival is shown here for the first time, and will be one of two being sold at the BEAMS booth on the site.
