Cahiers du Sangra

Danny Sangra goes New Wave in his latest short film ‘Brigitte Moreau’. That’s New Wave as in La Nouvelle Vague, the influential French film movement of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Danny’s film sees titular character Brigitte, played by Valentine Payen, relating her ideas for a book of short stories based on her life and the ‘day dreams of Jean Paul Belmondo’. Those ideas see icons of French culture Jean Luc Godard and Jacques Dutronc being named, before the full colour of real life breaks into Brigitte’s black and white imaginary world briefly. This also sees one of Danny’s first films to feature his animations.
