Maisy Summer – Planning for Intergenerational Futures

Maisy recently designed and illustrated a research publication for the University of Birmingham called ‘Planning for Intergenerational Futures’. The booklet looks at policy-making and professional practice in urban building programmes in England. Over 15 years, the university has been looking at the experiences of children, young people and families living in newly built communities, especially those said to be ‘sustainable’. Maisy’s design highlights quotes from those living within the developments, giving them equal status to the decisions of stakeholders including local councils, builders and architects.
