Roses are red…

Okay, some are red, but others are pink, like the head of roses shown here, in this new piece from Anna Bu Kliewer called ‘Roses in Morocco’.

The colour of the roses is reflected by the clothing of the individual who is holding and has apparently become a rose, and also in the background of the walls and curtain, which the title suggests are in Morocco. Apparently, in Moroccan culture, the colour red is seen as protecting against evil spirits. So, perhaps pink does the same for slightly mischievous spirits. And, whether you need protecting from a spirit of mischief or not, we’d like to use Anna’s image to mark Valentine’s Day.
