James Joyce is creating new original artworks he’ll be selling at the next Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair on 9 July.

The Art Car Boot Fair is an annual event which is now being sponsored by Vauxhall Motors, and located in their birthplace – Vauxhall, just south of the river.

Over one hundred artists will be taking part, selling exclusive pieces from the boots of Vauxhall cars, old and new. Besides James, other artists involved include Gavin Turk, Sir Peter Blake, Pam Hogg, Bob and Roberta Smith, Marcus Harvey, Polly Morgan and Rachel Howard.

The main fair will be held inside The Workshop in Whitgift Street, a new space which was formerly part of the London Fire Brigade’s headquarters. This is a short distance from the Thames and in the heart of Vauxhall’s growing art quarter, with the Beaconsfield gallery and Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery just a street away.

James is at work on the pieces he’ll be bringing along right now, though you can see one example here. Go along, and you can make an offer for this or any other pieces on display. Bartering is encouraged.

The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is open from 12-6pm on Sunday 9 July at The Workshop, Whitgift Street, SE11. Entry is £5.
