Steven Wilson – Art of Ping Pong

Bats for ping pong

We recently told you about how Steven Wilson was creating a bat for the next Art of Ping Pong charity exhibition and auction. We’re very pleased to now be able to show Steven’s design, which plays with 3D effects, the shape and texture of the bats, all in stunning colours.

Art of Ping Pong is a project which supports good causes by partnering with leading artists to create unique artworks and products based around a love of table tennis. Among their events is a charitable exhibition and auctions of artist-created ping pong bats, which takes place each year. Previous auctions have seen Anna Bu Kliewer, Matt Blease and James Joyce taking part.

This year’s Art of Ping Pong exhibition runs at The Civic in Barnsley from 10 September until 10 November, with Steven’s bats displayed alongside designs by Jamie Reid, Zandra Rhodes, Morag Myerscough, and Jenny Beard. The bats will then be auctioned to raise money for Choose Love, a charity which supports refugees around the world.
