Maisy Summer – Collaboration with Blackwing
It’s a wrap
Blackwing describe themselves as a team of writers, artists, musicians, designers, and DIYers who like to provide a space to relax from the digital world. In practice, this means they offer items on their site like pencils, paper, and tools to enable people to create, plus they support independent artists in all spheres of the arts.
Maisy has just worked with them to create the Blackwing Furoshiki (2025 Edition). A furoshiki is a traditional Japanese cloth wrap, which have been used to protect valuables in Japan for at least 1,000 years. Today they can be used as an eco-friendly alternative for wrapping gifts or carrying objects. Maisy created a Japanese-inspired illustration to be printed on the wrap. The wrap itself is made from 100% cotton shantung by Musubi in Kyoto, who have been making furoshiki since 1937. You can buy the 2025 Blackwing Furoshiki here.
