Natasha has contributed the three images shown here to accompany a very personal article in the summer issue of Elite Traveler.
The piece, titled ‘After the scars have healed’, is written by Samantha Coles, who elected to have a preventative bilateral mastectomy at age 30 after finding she carried a gene that meant she had a high risk of breast cancer. It focuses on the struggle that came after her surgery – an anxiety around intimacy. She found sexuality wasn’t an area that was covered by the healing process, or at spas and wellness clinics. Until she visited the Miraval wellness retreat in Arizona. The article traces her experiences at the retreat and how, while they may not have resolved everything, they have helped her to start talking and realise she’s not alone.
