If you bought the Guardian on Saturday, you may have spotted James Joyce’s latest printed work. He illustrated an article – ’50 simple hacks to change your life’ by Amy Fleming – that’s effectively a ready-made set of New Year resolutions. Putting them into practice, the article suggests, could help to improve everything in 2020 from your relationships and sleep to the planet itself. James illustrates the article with drinking straws, referring to one of the hacks – don’t just switch from plastic to paper or metal, try avoiding single-use altogether.
