Backing Robert Plant in California
Robert Plant played a gig at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California on Thursday 21 June. How do we know? Because we saw the poster Steven Wilson created for it, which you can see here.
Steven has taken some inspiration from the music poster history of the Berkeley/San Francisco area, with a hint of psychedelic style. This isn’t the first time he’s designed posters for concerts in this area – you may remember a poster a while back for Seven Lions and Tritonal at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
And this isn’t the first time Steven has worked with Robert Plant, either. He’s produced a number of pieces for the legendary vocalist in recent years (we’ve included a few visuals below), including backdrops and other tour artwork, winning high praise from the man himself: “Steve’s work is loaded with bright and vivid imagination and many styles. His representation of me and my world is perfect. Stylistically he has gone back to take me forward.”
