A taste of the rainbow

For the past few years, SKITTLES® have been supporting Pride by giving up their own rainbow so that Pride’s rainbow can take centre stage.

In 2017, the first ‘rainbowless’ Skittles hit shelves nationwide. In 2019, SKITTLES® have worked with four artists from the LGBTQIA+ community to design ‘rainbowless’ packs that will be available in Tesco stores. Kate is one of those artists, alongside Thomas Wolski, Fox Fisher and Meech. Each artist was asked ‘What does Pride mean to you?’ and the pack designs you see are their response.

When discussing their design Kate responded:

What does Pride mean to you?

Being your true authentic self, and expressing yourself in any way you feel.

What does your pack design represent?

My design celebrates the origin of the rainbow flag designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978. Each colour in the flag was assigned a different meaning by Baker, so I illustrated each of these in my design.
