South-east of Los Angeles, deep in California, in the Coachella Valley, lies the desert resort city of Palm Springs. It’s an idyllic retirement location and attracts people escaping from the cooler weather during the winter months.
If the city wanted to create an idealised advertising image, they need look no further than Steven Wilson’s latest personal work, which is titled ‘Palm Springs’. A 1950s pink Cadillac stands in front of a single-level home of the same era, complete with pool and palm trees, all in the shadow of the San Jacinto Mountains. And rendered in bright colours and simple lines. An image of the American West Coast lifestyle we’ve all dreamed of.
