It’s all smiles in Lisbon

James Joyce is taking part in a new exhibition at the Underdogs gallery in Lisbon curated by Norman Cook, better known to some as Fatboy Slim.

The exhibition, Smile High Club, is focused on the symbol of the smiley, and James is contributing one of his own yellow smiley paintings. Norman Cook has long been fascinated by the image which has been at the centre of pop culture since its original creation, by Harvey Ball, in 1963.

The exhibition opens on 21 June and runs until 27 July 2019. You can find out more here.
